Online shopping surges amid COVID-19: study
Three in 10 consumers reportedly shopped online for the first time.
E-commerce shopping activities have surged significantly, with 74% of consumers making online purchases more frequently, driven by movement restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the Visa Consumer Payment Attitudes Study.
Since many have turned to the internet to shop, 52% of consumers have reportedly visited physical stores less frequently.
Home delivery frequency has been heard as well, with 71% using it more often and 25% trying it out for the first time.

Mastercard is launching a new generative AI shopping tool called “Shopping Muse” that is designed to help users get personalized product recommendations. Half of Saudi consumers shop online at least every week
LONDON: Saudi spending habits have been revealed in research showing half of the Kingdom’s consumers shop online at least every week.
Some 24 percent of those surveyed shop online two to three times a week while 11 percent shop daily, according to research from Podean.
