As the Oracle Health Conference got underway in Las Vegas this week, the company made several new announcements around its Cerner electronic health record, including a big one about a new artificial intelligence integration.
WHY IT MATTERSThe new Oracle Clinical Digital Assistant technology is intended to help providers use generative AI and voice commands to reduce manual work and documentation burden, the company says, enabling them to focus more on patient care.
The generative AI behind Oracle Clinical Digital Assistant is meant to improve clinicians’ EHR experience, helping providers give their full attention to patients while simplifying administrative tasks.

Investigating Interactions at Molecular Junctions for Novel Electronic Devices | Tokyo Tech News
key role in electron transport, reveals a recent study conducted by researchers at Tokyo Tech. Through simultaneous surface-enhanced Raman scattering and current–voltage measurements, they found that a single dimer junction of naphthalenethiol molecule shows three different bondings, namely π—π intermolecular and through-π and through-space molecule–electrode interactions.
The π—π interaction is a type of noncovalent interaction that occurs when the electron clouds in the π orbitals of aromatic rings or π-conjugated molecular systems overlap. This interaction enables an efficient movement of electrons between the molecules, offering the potential to design materials with unique electronic properties. The structure of the junctions formed…
Georgia’s controversial electronic voting machines face their biggest test yet
ATLANTA — A federal judge will soon rule on whether Georgia’s hotly contested Dominion voting machines are vulnerable to hacking and violating voters’ constitutional rights, a decision that threatens to scramble the battleground state’s election procedures heading into the 2024 presidential campaign.
A sprawling six-year-long legal fight over the integrity of Georgia’s elections wrapped up in a federal courthouse in Atlanta on Thursday afternoon, teeing up a ruling that could shake voters’ faith in their electoral system and further fuel unfounded claims of fraud on the right.
The trial is not about the massive voter fraud former President Donald Trump…
Academic buildings to get new electronic door locks | E-News
WVU contractors will install new exterior door locks at 13 academic buildings on the Downtown Campus between now and Aug. 1 to automate operations and improve security.
This work will be done in two phases that could be several weeks apart, the first to run new required cabling and the second to replace the locks. Although these activities may affect pedestrian traffic flow at times, they will not otherwise disrupt classroom operations.
All building supervisors will be notified when work is scheduled to begin at their location; the precise dates are not currently set. However, buildings will be upgraded in…
Mercury (MRCY) to Supply Electronic Warfare Training Subsystems
Mercury Systems MRCY has secured a significant five-year contract worth $243.8 million from the US Navy. This indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract is set to supply rapidly reprogrammable electronic attack training subsystems for the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division.
Leveraging more than 25 years of test and training technology from the Mercury Processing Platform, these subsystems aim to provide cutting-edge jamming and electronic warfare capabilities to US pilot training organizations.
Mercury’s digital RF memory (DRFM)-based reactive jamming subsystems offer flexibility, enabling training planners to quickly reprogram missions across various aircraft through an intuitive software interface.
Moreover, these systems can simulate…
