Many of the countries that have sanctioned Russia over the war in Ukraine need to take urgent action to disrupt the supply of technology for its electronic warfare campaign, according to a new report. Halifax Transit’s electronic ticket system is delayed again

After multiple delays, passengers on Halifax Transit will have to wait a little longer before they can use their smart phones to pay for trips on buses and ferries. Coun. Waye Mason asked for an update on the electronic fare system during a meeting of the city’s transportation standing committee Thursday. London, UK-based company Masabi is designing the system, and was awarded the contract in July 2022. At the time, staff said it could be in place within months. That date then shifted to this summer. Canada’s electronic spy agency faces a staffing crisis

The Communications Security Establishment (CSE), one of the federal agencies tasked with countering foreign interference, is experiencing a “major staffing crisis,” a former CSE spy told Radio-Canada/CBC. The CSE intercepts and decodes communications of foreign targets that seek to harm Canada. It is also responsible for protecting the federal government’s computer network and advising critical infrastructure operators, such as banks and hospitals, on how to protect themselves against cyberattacks. UK to charge £10 for new Electronic Travel Authorisation

The UK’s new Electronic Travel Authorization scheme (ETA) will cost visitors to the country £10 when it starts being phased later this year. The ETA, which will operate in a similar way to the existing ESTA system for non-visa travelers to the US, will launch in October for Qatari nationals.
