BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Samford University Athletics has reached an official licensing partnership with Athlete’s Thread that will allow Bulldog student-athletes to financially benefit from their Name, Image and Likeness (NIL).
“We are thrilled to announce the commencement of a groundbreaking NIL partnership between Athlete’s Thread and Samford University,” Athlete’s Thread founder Karthik Shandi said. “Athlete’s Thread, a prominent custom apparel brand specializing in the NIL space, is excited to join forces with Samford Athletics and their 17 varsity sports competing at the NCAA Division I level.”
Through this new agreement, fans can now purchase merchandise, including personalized jerseys with Samford’s official logos and trademarks.

When partnering with Athlete’s Thread, student-athletes earn 12 percent commissions on all merchandise sales, with the opportunity to earn an additional 10-15 percent commissions by sharing their affiliate link – a total of 22-27 percent.
